Marisel Balseiro, 76, passed away on May 3, 2018, in Edgewater, NJ. Marisel was born October 4, 1941 in Placetas, Cuba. She was the daughter of the late Rafael Garcia and Argelia Costa also of Placetas. Marisel emigrated from Cuba in 1961, fleeing the Castro Regime, and married the late Rodolfo Balseiro in 1962. With her husband of 50 years, she was an active member of St. Rocco’s RC Church in Union City. When not doting on her grandchildren, Marisel spent her time devouring spy novels and informing everyone that “America is the greatest country in the world.” Marisel is survived by her daughter Marisel and son-in-law Thomas Wilbur of Washington, DC; their son Rudy Balseiro and daughter-in-law Cathleen of Bronxville, NY; grandchildren David, Danny, Crissi, and Marisel Wilbur, and Owen, Emmet, Eve, and James Balseiro; nephew Manuel Balseiro and nieces Lourdes and Liana Balseiro. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY between the hours of 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church on Palisade Ave in West New York, NJ, on Saturday, 11:30 AM. Internment to follow.
