Winifred M. Kahl
1921 – 2020
Winifred Kahl, a longtime resident of Eastchester, NY, passed away on June 2, 2020 at the age of 98. She was the devoted wife of the late Frank E. Kahl, to whom she was married for 58 years.
Win and Frank Kahl were both born and raised in the Bronx, NY. They moved to Eastchester in the early 1950s and were original residents of the Huntley Estates and Hickory Hill sections of the town, and later original residents at the Townhouses at Lake Isle. Win was a graduate of Evander Childs High School in the Bronx. After raising her three children, Win earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with honors, from the College of New Rochelle. She was a regular tennis player, an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Win was also parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe, NY.
Win is survived by her children Susan Trojanowski of Eastchester, NY; John Kahl and his wife Jane of Scarsdale, NY; and James Kahl and his wife Caroline of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julie Kahl, Laura Tikonoff, Anne Kahl, Catherine Linskey, and Cameron Kahl; and by her great-grandchildren, William, Elizabeth and Emily Tikonoff.
