Bridget T. (Terry) Stewart  (nee Gannon) a longtime resident of Eastchester, NY, East Quogue, Long Island, and Boynton Beach, FL and currently of New Rochelle, NY . She was born to the late Alexander and Ellen (nee Flaherty) Gannon on July 23, 1930 in Bronxville, New York where she attended and graduated from the Bronxville Schools. Bridget married George N. Stewart, Sr. (retired Eastchester Fire Dept.) on August 12, 1950 at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville and is survived by him, her four children, and their spouses George, Jr. (retired Lt.  Eastchester Fire Dept.) and Deborah of Eastchester, Nancy and Jay Reynolds (retired Lt. Town of Mamaroneck Fire Dept.) of Windham, NY, Shawn (President Eastchester Professional Firefighters Assn., Vice President New York State Professional Firefighters Assn.) and Mary Beth of Eastchester, Kevin (Eastchester Fire Dept. Firefighter and currently on active duty as a Lt. Commander USCG) and Christine of New Rochelle as well as eight grandchildren, Kristin (Captain USAF), Shawn Michael, Ashley, Colleen, Kerry, Courtney, Kevin Jr., and Brian. She was predeceased by her three sisters, Helen Thornton, Joan Donovan, and Patricia Gill. Bridget graduated from Berkeley Business School in 1949 and was a member of the Girl Scouts of America for over 65 years including the recipient of the St. Anne Medal in 1979 and received her pilot license at the age of 16 making her the youngest female pilot to fly solo at that time. Bridget was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries for VFW Post 5335, Boynton Beach, FL and American Legion Post 347, Larchmont, NY. She was also the owner of Terry’s Service Station in Bronxville for 18 years. Calling hours at The Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 5 to 9 pm Friday.  Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph’s Church Bronxville on Saturday December 4 at 11 am.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Girl Scouts of America or Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Rd., Bronx, NY   10461.
